Our E6B flight computer app offers over 100 aviation functions, conversions, and utilities, making it the most comprehensive and accurate tool available. Unlike other E6B apps that rely on rules of thumb, our app uses scientifically accurate formulas to ensure precise calculations.

The E6B Functions category includes various functions essential for flight planning. Plan Leg functions provide information such as groundspeed, true heading, compass heading, leg time, distance, fuel required, fuel flow, and endurance. The Airspeed functions calculate actual TAS, actual Mach, plan Mach, plan TAS, and total air temperature. Wind functions determine wind component, unknown wind, and wind correction angle. Altitude functions calculate pressure altitude, density altitude, and true altitude. Climb & Descent functions provide data on required descent gradient and rate as well as top of descent calculations.

Under the Extra Functions category, you'll find additional tools for performance and navigation. These include rate of turn and turn radius calculations based on angle of bank and airspeed, required bank angle for standard rate turns, hydroplane speed calculations, load factor in level turn calculations, pivotal altitude determination, DME arc distance along the arc calculations, and estimating thunderstorm cell height using radar tilt and echo distance.

The Aerodynamics section covers essential aerodynamic calculations such as lift and power & torque estimation.

In the Conversions category, you can convert values between different units to simplify your calculations. Temperature conversions include Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, and Rankine. Distance conversions cover statute miles, nautical miles, kilometers, meters, and feet. Speed conversions include knots, miles per hour (mph), kilometers per hour (kph), feet per minute (fpm), meters per second (mps), and Mach at ISA. Pressure conversions cover inches of mercury (inHg), millibar (mbar), kilopascal (kPa), pascal (Pa), pound per square inch (psi), and standard atmosphere (atm). Fuel conversions allow for conversions between mass (pounds and kilograms) and volume (gallons and liters) for various fuel types such as 100LL, Jet A, Jet B, and Water. Weight & Mass conversions cover pounds, kilograms, and ounces. Area conversions include square miles, square nautical miles, square kilometers, square meters, and square feet. Liquid volume conversions include gallons, liters, ounces, quarts, pints, and cups. Dry volume conversions cover cubic feet, cubic inches, cubic meters, and liters. Density conversions include pounds per cubic foot (lb/ft³), pounds per cubic inch (lb/in³), kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m³), and slugs per cubic foot (slug/ft³)

For power-related calculations, you can convert between horsepower (hp), kilowatts (kW), and watts (W). Torque can be converted between pounds-foot (lb-ft), pounds-inch (lb-in), newton-meter (N-m), and kilogram-meter (kg-m).

Weight & Balance functions help you determine the center of gravity (CG) and moment of an aircraft. It allows you to calculate weight, moment, and CG location using either weight in pounds or kilograms. It also includes a CG shift calculator that determines the amount and distance of weight that needs to be shifted to achieve the desired CG position.

The Time Utilities section includes various time-related calculations. The Time Calculator allows for standard mathematical operations on time values as well as time conversions between different formats. The Flight Log Calculator helps to calculate block and flight times in both decimal and formatted time. It also includes the option to set standard taxi times in the settings. The Standard Calculator is a general-purpose calculator for other calculations. The IFR Timer is a countdown timer with audio, visual, and vibrating alerts designed specifically for instrument flight rules (IFR) operations.

In the settings, you have the flexibility to change the precision of conversions to zero, one, two, or three decimal places, with the default set to two decimal places. You can also choose between day and night modes for optimal visibility.

An E6B flight computer is an essential tool for pilots, traditionally in the form of an analog device that combines a slide rule and slide wheel to perform aviation-specific calculations. Our app goes above and beyond both the analog E6B and other digital E6B apps by offering a comprehensive range of functions including time calculations, rate and radius of turn calculations, and pivotal altitude calculations which are particularly useful for flight training purposes.
